I popped in to malcs again the other evening after work (As I have a habit of doing) to find them working furiously (Pat) putting away a large stock of new stuff from bachmann. I model in 00 at the moment but I must say that at malcs if you were into 'N' it's not the "Poor relation" That you find at some model shops - quite the contrary in fact. He stocks an impressive amount of 2mm stuff - from the ubiquitous "Train set" to locos and rolling stock from all eras. Buildings in card-kit form and ready built plus all the expected scenics and trackside detritus necessary. If you walked into malcs with an idea, you could walk out fully set-up and ready to go!

Visited three times and always came away more knowledgable than when I went in and with a bag full of goodies for my layout, very helpful and polite and makes you very welcome. Very large range of stock and if it's not in stock he will try to get it for you. I recomend you visit this aladdin's cave of a shop.

I have only recently discovered malc's models but am already a devotee. After my flying scotsman loco spent a year back with the manufacturer's agent and then was returned to me still not working, I was delighted to get it back from malc's within two weeks, fully functional and only denting my bank balance to the miserly sum of £8-75. The staff are very matey and will give you any gen they are able to. The amount of stock they have is awesome. I've just left my old triang-Hornby hall class with them, and i'll be sending all my locos there from now on. Splendid establishment!

I heard a fellow customer describe malcs models as "Like an aladdin's cave", which certainly summed-up anyone's first visit to this model mecca! malc (And his son), steve and pat are always happy to help. At malc's models you can find a good selection of all the gauges and standards. Models, accessories, scenics, everything! You may browse without pressure. Beginner or expert - you can gain inspiration and get very good advice. Never, ever feel that you can't ask the simplest or most trivial question - malc and his staff are happy to help with no hint of the elitist attitude at some shops where anyone who isn't an expert can is ridiculed. give them a try, you won't be disappointed. Just make sure you have at least an hour because your eyes will be on stalks!!

Yet again malc came up with the goods. MY wife and kids needed to buy something for fathers day and up came a 75ton crane and some camping folk.

Malc and his son offer a very friendly and patient service to all their customers. Their knowledge is great, and they make every customer their top priority with their assistance. The shop has recently expanded, and the range, particularly in N gauge and OO gauge is excellent. There is even a section of the shop with a layout in it, so that you can test your new purchases properly. highly recommended, and thoroughly worth a visit. Well done lads!
