After buying a brand new OO loco from Modelmania, I found it had a fault.I contacted the shop and by return email I was offered a return to the maker, a swap or an exchange and they were proactive in their follow-up service. Impressive and very re-assuring.

Very helpful and reasonably priced. Managed to get old locomotives working- most not run for thirty years- without much trouble or cost. Good selection for items for the expert or the newcomer.

My 80 year old dad and I are complete newbie's to model railway trains, and brian was so helpful answering our bonehead questions. Explained to myself how to wire up points and how to power the switches etc. and on a visit by dad, helped him with decorations and advice for his home layout. My father belongs to frenchey railway model club, and most of them use modelmania as well. Will be back soon.

I had known of (And occasionally purchased from remotely) this model shop for over 20 years, and I finally visited it this year! Well worth the visit - I found an item sold out everywhere else. I didn't leave it another 20 years and went back a few weeks later! Recommended. Lots of items new and secondhand in both uk and continental.

For a "Traditional model" Shop their on-line service is great. I needed to replace some Hornby nem couplers (Steel) with Bachmann which are non magnetic. The big boys only had hornby, I found them in stock here. Put in my order, pay-pal threw a wobbly and went round the payment loop three times. Sent them an e-mail to check there was only one order, reply came back first thing Monday, couplers arrived Wednesday. Traditional and up to the mark on the internet, can't be bad.

I have known of this shop for over 20 years but only just got round to visiting it last week. I put my hands on an item that was out of stock everywhere else so I am glad I did. This is one of the few traditional style model shops left and I would advocate anybody paying them a visit.

First visit after a few years gap, and this shop is just as good as ever. Excellent range, well displayed, brian in residence, had a good chat and came away with just what I wanted, which had been helpfully put to one side following an earlier phone call. Forget the internet - go and visit a proper shop like this one. Pleased to see several people drop in while we were there, all cheerfully greeted and helpfully dealt with by brian - top shop!

A most enjoyable visit (From witney - 90mins journey). There is so much browsing potential, terrific stocks and knowledgeable people. Prices for new are very reasonable and lots of secondhand at very good prices. So good I went again for a second visit. Log out of ebay and take a trip there instead - you won’t regret it.
