Staff range from having no knowledge to fairly knowledgeable. Prices are full rrp with the odd discounted item. Range is good, shop is old but very clean and tidy. A traditional old style toy shop. Worth a visit all the same as they have a lot of withdrawn items still in stock. [Response from Retailer: "The Model Dept is run single handed and it is difficult to serve everyone at the same time, so customers do sometimes have to wait. As for being ignored if this means they were not attacked by a sales assistant as soon as he walked into the dept as you do in some shops, then I'm sorry to say but that's not how I work. I don't like sales assistants pouncing on me as soon as I go into a shop so I don't do the same to my customers. If he was genuinely ignored, then I can only offer my apologies as this is not something we practice. As for the comment "Staff range from having no knowledge to fairly knowledgeable", well I do like to have a day off now and again. When I do, someone from a different dept has to stand in for me (we are a family run department store with Cycles, Toys, DIY and Haberdashery). What he did fail to mention is that the dept does not just stock Model Railways. I stock a lot of other different products as well (Scalextric, Games Workshop, Plastic Model kits etc..). This means that I can not be an expert on everything I sell, but I try to be fairly knowledgeable on the products I do sell."]
