I was pleased to welcome the re- establishment of a local model shop in the area that provides an excellent friendly service on a full range of railway products.
with the current trend of internet shopping and instant availability, it is good that the local business, can compete with competative pricing and are around to provide advice and support, and in this case are fully deserving of support from local modellers

Having seen them at 2 exhibitions this year, and brought items, i made the effort to go to there shop. I was impressed from the moment i walked in. I was welcomed, but not pestered ( a pet hate of mine). They have made every effort possible for customers to browse and help them selves. It was only when i couldn't find what i was looking for that a member of staff asked if i needed assistance. The staff were so helpfull. Its not a big shop, but they have a massive stock. As for the prices, it matches the service. They excel on customer service on trains at least, its must be the same on planes and such. They have won me over.

Recently under new ownership & far tidier than ever before. Decent range of hornby & bachmann alongside a better thyan the norm rc and plastic kit range. Staff helpful and well informed. Pricing competitive enoughto make on line competition unnecessary. Parking a small challenge but surmountable and a 5 min walk from the station. This shop deserves to succeed.

Decent model shops are as rare as hen's teeth in these internet times, so having a totally revamped addlestone models practically on my doorstep has been a real blessing. I had resigned myself to mail order (and the delays and costs associated with it) but this local shop has the lot. As a 1/72 scale wwii aircraft modeller, all of my supply needs are catered for, and anything they don't have they are willing to get. With realistic prices and friendly advice, this is one model shop i have no qualms supporting. There is no parking on-site, but with a massive tesco across the street, it's not a problem.

Wow what a change. I heared that Addlestone models had re-opened, so went and had a look. It is back open. There are new people running the shop and have a great enthusium for it. The shop looks 3 time larger, the stock levels must be alot higher. The help and consideration that I recieved was second to none. The shop is now so clean and tidy, everything in its place, unlike before. Fantastic selection of OO and N gauge and clear price lables, and very keen pricing. Great shop, a MUST visit.

WHEN I HEARD THAT ADDLESTONE MODELS HAD RE-OPENED I HAD TO GO AND SEE.
THEY HAVE COMPLETLY RE-DESIGNED THE INSIDE AND THEY ARE STILL DOING MOST OF THE SAME STUFF, PLANES, BOATS, CARS, KITS & ALL THE ACCESSORIES.
I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE NEW SHOP & IT IS WELL WORTH A LOOK. THEY HAD ALMOST EVERYTHING THAT I WANTED, BUT THE BLOKE SAID THAT THEY ARE STILL RE-STOCKING THE SHOP (SO ASK THEM ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT BECAUSE IT MIGHT NOT HAVE COME IN YET).

I visited the site of this shop on Friday 13th May finding a notice on the door stating that there had been a closing down sale, the last day of which was 2nd April. A further notice on a board inside the window stated that the shop was closing, but re-opening "as a model shop, in a few days". There was no sign of life in the shop. I hope this is only a temporary situation.

Having seen the glowing reports of this shop I decided to pay a visit whilst in the area to see what all the fuss was about. I was, frankly, disappointed! In terms of being a Model Shop it looks terrific and I have no doubt many modellers of planes, boats, buses, cars etc flock there and get good help and advice. But by the standards of other good Railway model shops this place falls well short, with only a fair selection of Hornby rolling stock, not well presented, and a small selection of Peco. Nothing else of note! There are other Model shops who have far, far more to offer than this place to the railway modeller so I think the rating 10/10 smacks of local enthusiam rather than a sensible judgement. Ill give them 4/10 with the benefit of having seen many other shops listed in this British Railway Modelling Directory

First class-beyond the call of duty. They offered advice and went out of their way to help with practical advice, lessons and even found a supplier for painting the model professionally.
