My local model shop! As a general and wide-ranging model shop, rather than a model rail-only specialist, the railway section has limitations on the variety of kits and bits it can stock. However, it has a good selection of british and foreign r-t-r in all the major scales and prices are reasonable. I have always found the staff very obliging and have shopped there regularly since they opened.

In the process of being taken over by the r/c model fraternity. Virtually no plastic kits, and the model railway section is cluttered and confusing. The majority of the staff appear to be more interested in tinkering with the stock than serving customers. A pity really, as this used to be a shop worth visiting.

Good range of products in n gauge, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful service with no rush. Willing to direct you to other retailers if they haven't got what you are looking for (and phone ahead for you too).

Excellent customer service and product knowledge. No rush service and willing to help with practical advice. N gauge products readily available (including peco). Prices are cheaper elsewhere but stock availability can then become the issue.

The train side of this model shop has declined since Dave left. No real discount and no one with any knowledge of railways. Shame really as before Dave could be a source of information. Good parking and if you do need a mainstream item on a sunday at least youve got somewhere to go.

On the last two occasions (one was today) I have been in this shop the staff on the railway side seemed very indifferent. Certainly not customer friendly - today one salesperson was reading the Sun and I had to interupt him to pay for my purchases. The previous chap in charge of the railway side (David) was great - had a wealth of knowledge and years of experience. Always willing to advise and help. Shop is also rather pricey.
