Prices are better than I expect from a "Bricks & mortar" Shop - comparable with Online retailers. The shop is "Cozy", so the stock isn't all laid out - go with a list of what you want - there's a good chance it will be there. The owner is friendly and helpful, and won't try to talk you into something you don't want (As many others do!). There was no problem inspecting items out of the box and a good selection of second-hand and un-boxed items on/in the counters. as the name suggests, there is a good range of die-cast as well as railway models, plus scalextric and kits. there is a car park at the side (Free), others nearby and plenty of on-street space within a short walk. Victor Davies , Bury - 26 Jun 2011 - 8/10 Dear sir, I have responded favourably regarding the above "Trains and diecast" Shop about one week ago. I do have some fair criticisms of the above shop. First when you get your receipt for what you you have purchased from the shop. The bill is not itemised, so there is no way to see if the shop has made a financial mistake in what you have bought, after all we are now in the 21st century. Second when I purchased a platform for my model railway the proprietor never informed that me the item that I bought was the last because the manufacturer no longer exists! so I cannot now match my platforms as I require a new platform. Thirdly the first time I was at the shop no other customer was there. On Saturday two customers came in both local, one was an expert on model railways and a good friend of the proprietor he was helpful to me. The second was also a local, a family and it was obvious that when he spoke to them the proprietor was far more helpful and friendly with the "Locals" Than he was with me. I have spent in just over one week nearly £150.00- I believe that I should be treated in the same way as the local residents of horwich, after all my money is as good as there's. I also got the impression that that he is not bothered if I buy the models from him, that is a bit sad when money is so tight. He is very abrupt to his wife at times. Its just the lack of space.
