14th December 2011 - Bachmann Midland Compound 4-4-0 locomotive No.1000

Bachmann Europe PLC and the National Railway Museum have teamed up again to produce another Exclusive model – this time featuring the Midland Railway 4-4-0 Compound locomotive No. 1000.

The Midland Compound No.1000 was one of a Class that eventually totalled 45 locomotives. The first 5 to the design of S.W. Johnson were built in 1902. Deeley, Johnson’s successor built a further 40 locomotives between 1905 and 1909 to his own design. This resulted in the original five locomotives being rebuilt to the same design, No. 1000 receiving attention in 1914.

No. 1000 was withdrawn from traffic in 1951 and set aside for preservation. It was restored at Derby Works in 1959 where it regained Midland Railway livery. This locomotive is currently non operational and on loan for 3 years to Scottish Railway Museum at Bo’ness where it is on static display.

15th February 2011 - Bachmann Robinson 04 Locomotive No 1185

The Robinson O4 locomotive No. 1185, carrying Great Central Railway livery, compliments the NRM exclusive edition models produced by Bachmann. The first Great Central Railway class 8K 2-8-0 goods engine appeared in 1911 to the design of J G Robinson. The 8K were adopted by the Government for military purposes (the Railway Operation Division: ROD) during WW1 and used over seas during WW2. In 1923 No.1185 was modified for working under the North British loading gauge. It worked on the Fife to Aberdeen coal trains and was based at Thornton Shed.
Just 500 models are being produced and will be available from December.

8th December 2010 - Exclusive New Bachmann Wagons at the NRM

Be one of the first to own these great new exclusive wagons from the National Railway Museum in partnership with Bachmann. Each wagon set is limited to 500 pieces; the three sets pay homage to a region with a rich rail history: London, West Yorkshire and the Midlands. As well as featuring authentic advertising from local Co-operative Societies, West Yorkshire features the Bradford Co-operative Society; London has the Royal Arsenal Co-operative Society and the Midlands sports the Melton Mowbray Co-operative Society. They'll make the perfect addition to any collection this Christmas.
Why not also take advantage of our great range of train gifts, exclusive models, train sets, DVDS and books, all of which will bring plenty of festive cheer to any train enthusiast.

17th August 2010 - New Bachmann NRM City of Truro 3717

To compliment the exclusive City of Truro OO gauge working models the National Railway Museum with the partnership of Bachmann have introduced an exclusive model in its GWR livery favouring the rather more plain, but nevertheless elegant, green unlined livery with black frames.

In 1912, the number series was changed to 37XX and the City of Truro received its new number 3717. So the way the actual locomotive is being presented at the GWR175 is historically accurate for the engine in its current condition and now you can buy the model.
