I've never visited this shop but have purchased mail order from them several times. Firstly to source what were then some out of production ratio kits and most recently to source all the track, pointwork and motors i required for a new layout. Between times they've been very happy to fulfill the odd small order. More to the point the owner had to special order stock in himself to fulfil my last order, yet despite this and the fact the order was placed over the christmas period delivery was within days - i'd placed the order expecting to and happy to have to wait for a month. Exceptional service! 10/10 - based on mail order and help/advice provided over the internet. (usual disclaimer - i have no connection with this shop except as a satisfied customer). This review replaces a very badly spelt and laid out review i submitted some time ago.

I have dealt with store for mail orders and have received nothing but the best service with prompt knowlegeable service. I cannot praise john ( the proprietor) highly enough for his attention to a relatively small initial order. Since i model uk outline, just about everything i need has to be imported and 53a will be my main source in the future.

A small, well lighted shop that mainly specialises in model railways with a small amount of scalextrick products. Prices are quite high.space is quite cramped but is a good little shop.

Excellent shop. Good range of stock. Rolling stock and scenery at sensible prices. Excellent variety of second hand,at reasonable prices. Also a very good junk box. Finally books at the lowest prices I have ever seen. Well reccomend a visit.
