I discovered this shop about two years ago whwn I restarted N gauge modelling. I have also read other comments. Yes, it is a trifle dusty and some of the stock is getting on a bit but the owner is anything but dusty. I have found him to be a mine of information and he is always getting stock in regularly. The prices compare very favourably to mail order and are even better than mailorder when you factor in delivery charges. and you can park!

Ihave been visiting the engine shed for a few years now and have always found the shop to be a haven for ideas.I model the london underground and, as being a minority, I much appreciate the suggestions freely given. The shop is different to others in that I can find "Bits and pieces" That I can modify. The shop is very easy to get to, being only 5 minutes from leytonstone central line tube.

Great store with good rage of product. Very helpful and knowledgeable advice & Especially good if one is a beginner and needing a few words to help one focus on one's proposed layout etc. Carries kits (White-metal and etched) plus lots of accessory bits. Positive help for female modellers. Susan.

Where do I start - the display cabinets are half empty and the stock on display is covered in dust. There was a gentleman behind the counter who seemed more interested in looking at a computer screen rather than trying to see if he could help me find anything worth buying. If you model in N gauge, as I do - Give this shop a miss - N gauge products are few and far between. Most of the stock is contained in old cardboard boxes and look as though they have been there since before the ark!!!. However if you are prepared to get down and dirty and want something that probably went out of production about 10 years ago then this is the place for you - Otherwise give this one a wide berth.

A pleasure to visit and shop for the diehard railway enthusiast. Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. There is always something of interest ranging from the newest releases to assorted golden oldies not available elsewhere. A MUST stop whenever thinking Model Trains in London!
I visited this shop recently one weekday lunch time with a work colleague and to be honest we were quite disappointed with the limited range of products available. It all seemed a bit depleted and run down - goods in the window were sun bleached and stock inside was dusty. However, I did pick up a Hornby wagon at a good discounted price. I do not honestly think I shall be going there again as I normally shop for specific items and do not think I could rely on what is in stock.

In a word, this aladins cave dedicated to the railway hobbyist is AWESOME. No hard sell just very good practical advice, help, guidance and a wide range of items from the proprietry to the specialist and the late night Tuesday opening is inspirational, you can pick up that essential item on your way home easily - other shops should take note of this accessibility excellence. Easy to find, plenty of street parking - even the tube station isn't far away. Most definately worth a visit - you may not buy anything but the advise, general discussion and help that is freely given is priceless. This will become my mecca.
