Efficient service, bought on-line and received first class post. Well packaged item in good condition. Class 142 Pacer in GMPTE orange livery is now classic enough to keep running. Well pleased. Tony (Morpeth)

What a brilliant shop. A very extensive stock, lots of secondhand, and above all really friendly and helpful service from Jim. I think you could find nearly anything here, and Jim always makes the time to see that your needs are met!

I visit this shop whenever I am in the area (which is not as often as I would like) but I am always greeted like an old friend. The right balance of willingness to advise without pressuring to buy. Great stock range.

Found this wonderful shop while browsing for a discontinued and rare N Gauge Loco. Telephoned and spoke to Jim and he sent me a brand new loco the same day, excellently packaged, and accompanied by a personalised letter thanking me for my purchase. I wish Jim and the shop all the very best.

Have been there twice now and on both visits Jim has made me a brew and gone out of his way to be helpful. The place is a real Aladdin's Cave - stacked to the roof with bits and bobs and I'll guarantee you'll spend quite some time looking round. I can't see anything to stop you going to this shop - recommended - !

Today, I popped into The Locoshed to grab a few bits for the layout. I was greeted by Jim, with a smile and a hand shake. I have met him before but he wouldn't have remembered me. He made nice conversation before offering me a cup of tea. What other shop on this planet in this day and age, would you get that?! He gave me all the attention I needed even though he was busy with other customers (I think they were "live in" customers ????), and I walked away with a beautiful new Loco to play with instead of the bits and bobs I wanted. What an salesman!
Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for a nice experience and obviously, I will be back.

Found the shop's website when looking for a specific discontinued model and the extensive descriptions gave me confidence in the condition of the pre-owned ones. I was kept up to date with friendly reassuring emails when there was a slight delay in finding one of the things I'd ordered and Jim went out of his way to make sure he got me it. Great service. I look forward to being a return customer.

if you miss the traditional model shop where the Staff are interested in the customer and will take the time and trouble to provide advice and assistance - LOOK NO FURTHER - as this is definitely the place for you - Jim the owner always has a smile, a cheery word and a welcoming brew or soft drink (plus Customer toilet - useful especially to those of a certain age!!)
The range of stock (and knowledge) is extensive - all Scales and Gauges - new and pre-loved with prices and quality to suit all pockets and ranges of experience - Briish mainly but some Continental and American too
If you cannot see what you want - it may be on the extensive Website - but always ask as Stock changes constantly and he will also look out for Customers 'Wants'
A demonstration layout - OO/HO and N - Analogue or DCC means you can try before you buy and make sure you get what you expect (no hoping what you ordered arrives - in one piece and working) and in the event there is an issue there are people on hand/contactable to sort it out - plus a wide range of expertise and knowledge to call upon - friendly advice is given freely and friends often made with others sharing similar interests
There are also good transport links - close to M60/Besses Metrolink and 135 Manchester-Bury Bus Route (and a Takeaway on the Corner and Pub across the road!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to all modellers of all ages and abilities!! They also attend Model Railway Exhibitions and Toy Fairs - and do Mail Order if you cannot get to the Shop - nothing is too much trouble
