This shop is closing down at beginning of feb 2007. Worth a visit to pick up a bargain. I just bought an airfix boeing awacs e-3d for £18, down from £36.

I am keen to support local model shops and as this one was quite close to my workplace i was happy to give it ago. First impressions were not good. The shop is a bit of a shambles and really needs an uplift. I don't usually mind this as i enjoy searching for hidden nuggets - it's just that when i found them at this place they were haphazardly and often exhorbitantly priced. I felt duty bound to buy something and walked out with an italeri do217 in 1/72 scale for a rip-off £14.99. I tried haggling, but the old gent just told me to take it or leave it. I should have left it. In any case, the place is pretty well stocked on general modelling supplies (great brushes, scratch-building materials, paints and tools). Parking is not an issue as it's on a small parade.

I've called in on and off for 10 years can never decide on the place. I always feel like I'm an intruder! The 2nd hand stock is good, as are the basic materials but often what I want isn't stocked.

I was a little disappointed in the service. I bought 3 items 1 of which I was charged over the RRP. The stock held was interesting and I will be returning to see if the service is better next time.

Shop owner can appear a little unfrindly but once approached is very helpful. Not a huge range but some good second hand bargains.
