Wow what a find, ive recently got into model trains and ive found modellers mecca to be a great source of information and supplies. lucy is a great help as im still learning, and just by looking at pics from phones she can work out whats needed. sounds advice and brilliant service, just a shame your not more local or open on Mondays lol

I've been using this shop for a good number of years now and for very good reason. Lucy, the present shop owner, has carried on in the tradition of the previous excellent owners. Nothing is too much trouble and lucy's knowledge and experience is a goldmine in itself. She will always give good sound advice, explain things or write it down, in an easy to understand manner; and she will, if she can't help you directly, point you in the right direction. She is very well supported by her staff in the shop, who are also well equipped to give the same generous service and advice. The shop itself looks small from the outside, but inside, the shop has been organised so that everything is well laid out and neatly makes the most of the suprisingly generous amount of floor space. there is an excellent range of products in the shop, that one could easily spend a couple of hours browsing; and if asked, lucy will put an item "Under the counter", until you can collect it. Modellers mecca is a rare mix of the old fashioned friendly corner shop and the efficiantly well managed business, that caters for todays hectic modern world.

The joy of the shop is that it is not crowded, it is tidy and well presented as well as being well stocked. You don't have to get out of people's way all the time and so can browse. Staff were helpful and dug up what I wanted from the storeroom. Minor downsides are that stock is not all priced (locos) and, lets be honest, its a little out of the way.

Very competitive pricing. Lucy, the owner is both extremely efficient and a mine of information. She keeps the website constantly up to date so you can see exactly what's in stock. If you ring them up before your visit, they'll keep an item for you till you can get there.

Excellent-no complaints whatsoever! Quite simply the best model shop for miles around. Knowledgeable, helpful and friendly staff, competetive pricing, good website, well stocked show room, and lots more in stock. Give modellers mecca a try, either in person or Online-you won't be disapointed!
