The 43rd. Annual Model Rail Scotland event will take place at the Scottish Exhibition Centre in the heart of Glasgow. Held as always during the last weekend of February and running from Friday the 20th., through to Sunday the 22nd., this annual three day extravaganza of railway modelling boasts over a hundred and fifty stands comprising traders, exhibitor's layouts and various societies. There will be something for every taste.

Now in its 43rd. Year Model Rail Scotland is one of Europe's premier model railway events, attracting layouts and trade support from all over the United Kingdom and overseas. All the major players are there: Bachmann, Hornby, Dapol, Heljan and Peco. Model Rail Scotland also provides a wealth of demonstration stands where your modelling questions will be happily answered by leading figures from within the hobby.

Amongst the show's many layouts this year will be superb examples of railway modelling including British themed layouts as well as American and Continental examples. Held at the SECC in Glasgow, Scotland's premier exhibition centre and one of the UK's top show venues, Model Rail Scotland is easily accessed with excellent road and rail links. The SECC is situated just off Junction 19 of the M8 motorway with on-site parking for 2,865 vehicles. If attending by rail, Glasgow has the largest rail network in the UK outside London. Glasgow's Central Station is connected with every city in the UK, while Queen Street Station serves central and northern Scotland. Once you arrive in Glasgow, your journey right to the front door can be completed by train. Trains run to the SECC from the city centre with a journey time of just three minutes. If attending by coach, services run to Glasgow's Buchanan Bus Station from throughout the UK. Finally, Glasgow's International Airport is less than 15 minutes drive by direct motorway link from the city centre.
Once you arrive in Glasgow you will find that the city has a wealth of attractions for weekend visitors ranging from the Burell Collection, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, the Hunterian Art gallery and Museum, the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow Art Museum, the Glasgow Science Centre and the Museum of transport.
