Throughout the summer passengers can ride pulled by a variety of live steam and electric locomotives every Sunday from 13.00 onwards.
We meet at the well appointed Club House every Wednesday for members to test and run their locomotives and also maintain the site.
Prospective members are always welcome to come and join our club and to see the wide variety of locomotives our members have built.
We currently have approximately 80 members and welcome new members especially from the younger generation at any time.
The WRSLS also caters for private birthday parties on Saturdays throughout the summer months but please book early to avoid disappointment.
Our site amenities consist of a large club house, a secure locomotive shed and turntable for 7.25 inch gauge Locomotives, a fully equipped workshop, carriage shed, 5" locomotive sheds and various storage buildings. the club is very secure in that we have a fully fenced boundary and we also benefit from the presence of 24 hour security CCTV surveillance direct to a security company courtesy of our neighbors.
The clubs annual open weekend will be held on June 14th and 15th this year during which the WRSLS is open to the general public on both the Saturday and the Sunday.
The rally weekend includes free passenger travel, model engineering display for a small fee payable at the gate.
The club also prides its self on its excellent catering facilities which serves hot and cold meals throughout both days of the rally weekend.
Members of other societies are very welcome to bring there models and locomotives to the rally weekend but please remember to bring your boiler certificate's along with you if you would like to run.
We also supply free meals to visiting members that bring models to our rally for display and running purposes.
