Welcome to the third Great Little trains Model Railway exhibition in the town of Bala in a new and re-furbished school. Located in four-five halls with easy access, free parking, full refreshments and a free vintage bus service linking the exhibition with the Bala Lake Railway. A warm welcome awaits at the in the town of Bala, in the beautiful Welsh valley. Visit the live steam 2 feet gauge Bala Lake Railway alongside the lake for a 9 mile return trip, plus a big vintage transport show at the railway, lots of local caravaning and camp sites, come and join us for a great weekend.
The track is built on a section of the former standard-gauge Ruabon-Barmouth GWR route that closed in 1965. The railway now has the largest collection of historic narrow-gauge quarry locomotives built specifically for the slate industry in North Wales by the Hunslet Engine Company in Leeds.

The exhibition will feature (approx) 20 narrow gauge layouts and (approx)10 00/HO/7 mm Sm32, G scale layouts, in various scales, scenic, of historical and modern image, steam diesel and electric.
All the funds raised will go to the new extension of the railway into Bala town, please see the website for up-date information on the half mile extension.

Your Journey on the Bala Lake Railway, Rheilffordd Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake Railway) offers a delightful 9-mile (1 hour approx.) return journey alongside Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake), through the beautiful and natural Snowdonia National Park. The journey offers extensive views of Llyn Tegid, its surrounding countryside as well as the Arenig Fawr, Aran Benllyn and Aran Fawddwy mountains. Keep a look out for the herons & buzzards that nest near the line - a perfect example of nature and machines living side by side.
At the Station do enjoy the Free Parking, refreshments, great cakes, snacks, drinks, books, clothing, DVD's, visit the signal box, visit the new carriage shed , loco sheds, great views across the valley
Bala Lake Festival of Transport - 27th Sunday and 28th Monday May
Location: Adjacent to Llanuwchllyn station
The Festival will feature a selection of vintage and classic tractors, motorbikes, cars, rally cars, stationary engines, classic Land rovers, fairground, military and large scale models.
Trade stands and refreshments available.
Car parking for the Festival of Transport will be in Llanuwchllyn Village with a free shuttle bus to the show.
Please note FREE parking at the station will be for railway passengers only.
