Solihull Model Railway Circle was founded in Olton in 1951, making it one of the oldest model railway clubs in the Midlands, and it is still active today. Some of the first club meetings were held at the Manor House in Solihull. The current longest serving member joined in the late 1960s, but new members are joining us all the time. The main objectives of the club are to share and improve knowledge and skills between the members and to produce scenic model railway layouts in different scales.

Ours is known as 'The Friendly Club' we have a membership of approx 45 with an age range from 10 years old to our oldest member being 92 years young. We meet on Monday and Thursday evenings from 19.00 HRS to 22.00 HRS, also on Wednesday mornings/afternoon from 10.00 HRS - this known as our 'Active 60s Day' but all members are welcome especially the younger ones during school holidays. We promote two main events per year, our Open Day and Rail Exhibtion.We promote visits to various rail venues.

www.ngaugewmg.co.uk Meetings are held on the first and third saturday of each month at Tipton Green Methodist church hall between 2pm and 5pm. No annual membership is charged, but an attendance fee is levied to cover costs of the hall; tea etc., currently £2.50 per visit. We have constructed an exhibition N gauge layout "Waterstock" of a 20ft model based on a combination of Hatton and Yeovil Pen Mill, which is available for exhibitions.
