A long established club in south east kent, with over 45 members. We meet at the new broomfield hall, broomfield road, cheriton, on mondays and wednesdays from about 7.45. Our annual exhibition is very popular with over 3500 visitors attending over the weekend and is regarded as one of the best in kent (perhaps better than chatham!), our next show is october 6th/7th at the leas cliff hall in folkestone. Formed in 1970 by a group of enthusiasts with an interest in transport and railways in particular, the tradition carries on today, with interests as diverse as shipping, buses and trams. We hold 22 meetings a year at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Windmill Street Gravesend with speakers on a wide range of transport related subjects. There is also a newsletter "GRES Journal", published ten times a year and an annual coach outing, plus visits to other railway and transport sites. Although we currently have no modelling facilities, this remains very much an interest of many of our members, some of whom exhibit at the various railway modelling shows throughout the South East of England
