The live steam section utlises the machinary in the bottom cellars to make their locos and run them on the elevated tracks in the garden

The club meets monthly to operate a 'OO' gauge model railway based on prototypical british railways practice 1948 to 1964. The layout is in 6 garden sheds which are connected at operating sessions. The railway is run to a timetable with train movements signalled using bell codes. There are nine stations of which seven have goods yards, so to operate the entire system a minimum of 11 operators are required.

We have five working layouts in 00(3), N and N(trams)and are building three new layouts in OO, O and G. As well as layout building and operation we have a multi-gauge running track offering running in all gauges from Z to G and visitors can bring stock to run. We are preparing for our golden jubilee in May 2011. We will be holding a 50th anniversary exhibition on the weekend May 21/22 2011. We meet weekly on Fridays from 7.45pm and have monthly Saturday work days to make progress on layouts
