The Chelmsford Model Railway Club is an active club with six layouts, in "N", "OO", "OO9" and "O" available for exhibition and others in "OO" and "HO" are the planning stages. In addition to club owned layouts the club supports members when their private layouts are invited to exhibitions. New members and visitors are welcome. the colchester model railway club currently has an fine scale oo layout and an n gauge layout for exhibition. We are currently building a new finescale layout based in north london and refurbishing an ho american layout. We a further 2 oo gauge layouts under construction. The Ilford and West Essex MRC meets next to Chadwell Heath BR Station. Formed in 1930 the Ilford and WE is the third oldest MRC. We meet "00 and N" (Tuesdays), "American HO" (Wednesdays), "0" (Fridays) with 7 1/4 Live Steam open days (Sunday) monthly. Visitors and new members are always welcome.

We are a small and friendly club with our own club house (former crossing keepers cottage at ingatestone railway station). We model in most gauges, members and club. We have 2 club layouts, blackwell's brewery, e.M. Gauge and butler central, n guage. There is also a member's layout lydgate,oo guage. Club nights are tuesdays and thursdays every week. Children under 16 must be accompanyed by an adult.

Headquarters is a B.R. Mk1 TSO coach built in 1954 and standing on its own length of track. Courtesy of Lord Braybrooke, the carriage shares its site with the Audley End miniature railway in an attractive woodland setting, adjacent to the famous Audley End House. Also on the site is the club room and multi-gauge track of Saffron Walden and District Model Engineering Society, who operate passenger hauling trains on certain days in the summer season. Audley End can therefore boast a unique selection of railway attractions to satisfy tourist and enthusiasts alike.

The thamesiders mrg is a a sub-division of the british region of the national model railroad association, the premier society for modellers of the north american railroading the group meets in various locations in essex and suffolk and we are in the process of builidng a series of modules to our own specifications, based upon the nmra and free-mo standards.
