The Thamesiders MRG is a a sub-division of the British Region of the National Model Railroad Association, the premier society for modellers of the North American railroading. The club was founded the club on the 19th of April 1991, by the late Martin Brent, and it was in, the same year that he conceived and organised the clubs first "Finescale Extravaganza" in 1991. The Extravaganza is now an annual event, and club now has an enviable reputation for organising one of the best model railway exhibitions in the south east. We have a clubroom between Watford and Bushey, and currently have 3 layouts in various stages of completion. We run train trips, have social events and exhibit our layouts at other model railway exhibitions several times a year. We welcome new members who want to get involved, improve their modelling, and have fun. All we ask is a positive attitude and a sense of humour.

Our main club night is weekly on Thursday evenings from around 7:30. Some members attend on most Tuesday evenings - usually from around 8pm, whilst others are there on Thursday afternoons. Larger scale modellers (Gauges 0 and 1) meet on Wednesday evenings. WVMRC has around fifty members, working in the most popular scales and gauges "N", "H0", "00" , "0" and "1".

Ours is known as 'The Friendly Club' we have a membership of approx 45 with an age range from 10 years old to our oldest member being 92 years young. We promote two main events per year, our Open Day and Rail Exhibtion.We promote visits to various rail venues.

We are now on the top floor of a former primary school which has become ST. Monica's social club. We have three layouts, and end-To-End exhibition layout, Dunball wharf, a highly scenic end-to-end layout which we will extend and improve ; a four-Track test track with a third rail laid in the innermost circuit; and a large twin-track, partially scenicised layout with engine shed, good yards and station, formerly the Merseyside layout. The rewiring of this layout is almost complete.

Meetings are held on the first and third saturday of each month at Tipton Green Methodist church hall between 2pm and 5pm. No annual membership is charged, but an attendance fee is levied to cover costs of the hall; tea etc., currently £2.50 per visit. We have constructed an exhibition N gauge layout "Waterstock" of a 20ft model based on a combination of Hatton and Yeovil Pen Mill, which is available for exhibitions. The Wingfield Railway Group was formed in 1981 by a small group of railway modellers who had the desire to build, operate and exhibit layouts based on modern railway practice. Meetings are held most Thursday evenings although members have access to the clubroom at all time.

Formed in April 2005, we are now meeting every Monday evening, Except the Third Monday of each month and Main Bank Holidays, e.G., Easter & Christmas.In July 2009, we had to move premises and now meet in the Upper Room, St. Peter's Church Hall, Wisbech. We have a '00' gauge layout and named it Hungate Bridge. We are hoping to eventually build and operate an N gauge next. Only serious railway modellers please.

The club meets between 7 and 10pm on Tuesdays and some Thursdays, when the demand is there, at the the bottom of comberton hill, 300 yards from the severn valley railway. We have 4 'N' gauge layouts, 2 under construction and 2 '00' gauge layouts both under construction. We are looking to get an '0' gauge group started. Yeovil Model Railway Group

The club meets weekly in our own clubrooms and has 2 exhibition layouts 'South Junction', in 4mm EM gauge & 'The Gasworks' in 7mm. We have two further exhibition layouts currently under construction a 7mm layout based on the Settle & Carlisle and a fine scale 00 gauge layout of Yeovil Town. Yeovil Model Railway has continuous test tracks in OO & O gauge. We welcome all people with a model rail interest from all era's, and scales.
