Rusper Model Railway Club

The club meets monthly to operate an extensive 'OO' gauge model railway layout based on prototypical British Railways practice during 1948 to 1964. The layout is in 6 garden sheds connected at operating sessions, and is run to a timetable with train movements signalled using bell codes. There are nine stations of which seven have goods yards, so to operate the entire system a minimum of 11 operators are required.

Headquarters is a B.R. Mk1 TSO coach built in 1954 and standing on its own length of track. Courtesy of Lord Braybrooke, the carriage shares its site with the Audley End miniature railway in an attractive woodland setting, adjacent to the famous Audley End House. Also on the site is the club room and multi-gauge track of Saffron Walden and District Model Engineering Society, who operate passenger hauling trains on certain days in the summer season. Audley End can therefore boast a unique selection of railway attractions to satisfy tourist and enthusiasts alike.

Solihull Model Railway Circle was founded in Olton in 1951, making it one of the oldest model railway clubs in the Midlands, and it is still active today. Some of the first club meetings were held at the Manor House in Solihull. The current longest serving member joined in the late 1960s, but new members are joining us all the time. The main objectives of the club are to share and improve knowledge and skills between the members and to produce scenic model railway layouts in different scales.

South Coast 'O' Gauge Group

Stowmarket Railway Club was formed in 1977 to "promote and foster interest in all aspects of railways in a pleasant and sociable atmosphere". The club meets every Tuesday in premises just outside Stonham Aspal. Every first and third Tuesday of the month are devoted to "real railways". In the winter, we arrange talks and slide shows by guest speakers or members. Other Tuesday evenings are railway modelling evenings". We hold two swapmeets every year in March and October and stage our annual exhibition in April.

We are a small friendly club for people interested in proprietary toy and model trains of any age or gauge. Monthly meetings are held either at the Brighton Toy and Model Museum or the Knoyle Hall, Brighton. Members take trains from their personal collections to run on test tracks.
