Newbury Model Railway Club

The Newbury model railway club has been in continuous existence for over thirty years and meets regularly every Friday evening at the Wash Common Community Centre on Glendale Avenue between 7:30pm and 9:30pm. We currently have six layouts that we exhibit and we are currently building a new OO gauge test track which will become a new exhibition standard layout over the next three years. Other gauges modelled as well as the two OO gauge layouts are 7mm narrow gauge, HO gauge, N gauge and O gauge.

Our aim is to promote 'O' gauge modelling in the North East (anywhere from Berwick to North Yorkshire). We meet on the second Friday of each month for slide shows, discussions, demonstrations etc and have a test track/layout which we use for running days/open days during the year. The North Road Railway Club meet twice a week on Tuesday and Friday evenings between the hours of 7:30pm and 11:00pm. Members interests are wide ranging with members modelling British prototypes from the 1920's to the present day and also Europeon and American practice. The club has several layouts which are exhibited at several locations around the country. the clubroom provides test tracks in OO (code 100 and 75), HOm, O gauge, On3 and N gauge. New members are always welcome to attend. Help and advice is available on all aspects of model railways. Friendly local club in northolt, with excellent facilities catering for 00 and 0 gauges plus 3.1/2 and 5" Live steam. large "O" Guage layout in the top attic of the community centre which has monthly track running nights using original bell indication boxes. an a "Oo" Layout in the lower attic which also has monthly track nights.The live steam section utlises the machinary in the bottom cellars to make their locos and run them on the elevated tracks in the garden.
