Our Group - Calder Northern Division is one of 22 UK groups who are part of the British Region of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA). We at Calder Northern Division are predominantly interested in the railways of the USA & Canada, but not exclusively, operating both HO and N scale layouts at our club facility at Crewe Heritage Centre. The NMRA is an international organisation responsible for agreeing & setting the standards used in the model railway manufacturing industry worldwide.

Carlisle and District 0 Gauge Group

We are an informal local group, modelling in 7mm to the foot. We have a large test track in our clubroom in carlisle citadel station, not the same as the border rlwy society, and we meet on the last Monday of the month at the haywain, little corby. Regular club night is Wednesday although we have unlimited access to the club room.We try to organise a Saturday Running day monthly but dates vary. The Culm Valley Model Railway Club started in January 2007. At present we have 20 members from ages 17 to 70ish. There are no real experts in our club so we are having fun learning together. An active society with over 24 members meets Wednesday evening and Thursday afternoon in our own clubroom, we have three 00 layouts, one N and an on30 under construction. Havil (00) our permanently erected layout includes a lengthy tram run. Middleton (00) LNER layout appeared in railway modeller May 2006. Binns road (00) a H-dublo 3 rail layout is on the exhibition circuit. Nevereech junction (N) follows S&D practice. Mosquito Falls (On30) is a Canadian logging layout using DCC.
