ETCHED BRASS KITS
in 4mm and 7mm Scales.

Judith Edge kits are designed by Michael Edge, a professional model builder for the last 25 years. All the etched parts are drawn with a CAD system to ensure accuracy. Resin mouldings and some turned parts are provided where appropriate. Wheels, motor, gears and buffers are not supplied.

The kits are etched in .015” material, which is thicker than most etched kits. This helps considerably to keep the model straight and true while half etches keep the visible sheet edges to near scale thickness. Half etched overlays are kept to a minimum on most of the kits and unsupported flat half etched parts are avoided.

A feature of the kit design is that the body is built in two sections, usually the engine casing/cab and the footplate/frame, joined with 14BA screws. This helps in construction and also makes painting easier. In all but the first three kits the cab floor is fitted to the frames, which leaves the cab interior accessible for painting and glazing after assembly while allowing the roof to be soldered on.
The instructions are designed as far as possible to explain how to build each model, rather than simply showing which part fits where. The etched parts are identified by number and a descriptive list. All the parts are shown on a general arrangement drawing which is derived from the CAD drawing used to create the kit and printed exactly to scale.

7mm Scale Kits:
We intend to produce most of our range in 7mm scale but this is a slow process involving some re-design. 7mm kits are produced in .022" material, with resin mouldings as in the 4mm kits. Wheels, motor, gears and buffers are not provided; the instructions detail recommended components and drive systems.
