The Engine Shed
Ihave been visiting the engine shed for a few years now and have always found the shop to be a haven for ideas.I model the london underground and, as being a minority, I much appreciate the suggestions freely given. The shop is different to others in that I can find "Bits and pieces" That I can modify. The shop is very easy to get to, being only 5 minutes from leytonstone central line tube.

Time Tunnel Models / Goldstarstockists
Closes 6th March 2010 and will be greatly missed for its excellent collection of diecast buses and efficient discounted pre-order system. However, the proprietor will continue to operate north of the border at fenton barns.

Modelrailwaystore.com
This shop has a wide, although not deep selection of the leading manufacturers in 0, 00 and N gauges; both new and secondhand . Secondhand includes a reasonable selection of Hornby 00 and triang. There is also some stock of new and used road vehicles, buildings and senery items. if you like a brouse, and the site of a model railway running in the middle of the shop go along. If you want a specific item, ring first!

Parrs
A visit to parrs is like a visit to modellers heaven!! Mr parr's daughter made you welcome as soon as you entered the shop and her product knowledge is second to none - even with my specialist requirements for on30/o-16.5. She even freely advised alternatives which I took up. The service was so welcoming, polite, and helpful I just didn't want to leave there!! Parrs is just like a model shop should be.

Modelmania of Bristol
I took my four 50 year old train engines into the shop in order to get them working (None had been used for 37 years) as I was unable to get them working. They managed to get all four working & Made some necessary adjustments. The service was first class & I can confirm the comments made in other people's reviews are spot on"! the shop offers a very personal and high level of service, much advice is given without any obvious intention to sell you anything. A shop run by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts.Excellent. this will always be my first port of call.

Kit Stop
We have visited this shop several times and have always found the family-run business most helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and co-operative. They will always offer advice and do not attempt to palm you off with goods you do not need. They will also exchange goods if bought in error. They will always point to a cheaper alterative if it is appropriate. Definitely worth a visit.

Peters Spares
Went to the shop not knowing what dcc was, but my partner had decided he wanted a system for his birthday present, I was amazed at how simple dcc was to understand when it was explained and demonstrated, by the friendly and helpful staff, they made it so I did not feel silly asking questions, also how enjoyable it was to see and hear the dcc sound fitted steam trains sorry loco's, the discount from the list price was very reasonable, I loved the way I did not feel pressured into buying anything, I will definitely be buying his christmas present from here, as at a discount of 22% I have preordered a train sorry loco, lol , thanks again for being so helpful peters spares, regards shelly.

K.S's World of Models
Definitely worth a visit- shopped with them for over 15 years, first OO and now n. Don't carry the biggest stock of N in the world, but have a good second hand selection and pricing on new N gauge items rivals that of the biggest box shifters. Fantastic stock of detailing products, rail match and phoenix paints, (And for OO a bewilderingly thorough selection of transfers for rolling stock/nameplates etc. A proper tardis with lots of ancillary modelling products, plastic sheet, brass strip, soldering flux etc, and a very good and tempting range of railway books. Small and perfectly formed shop !

Conwy Valley Railway Museum
I stumbled across this shop by accident whilst on holiday, and was very pleasently surprised. I shall definately make the round-trip again (Although they offer a mailorder service) because of the friendly and helpful staff. They carry a very wide range of scenic materials and model kits, with many items that are hard to find in the uk (For example, brawa, busch, faller etc.), which is my particular interest. It is well worth a visit - especially if you model the continental outline. Also worth mentioning is the converted restaurant coach nearby serving good food, and the large model railway in an adjoining building: something for all the family!

Sleepers Models
A great little shop, packed to the roof with gems. To complain about this is really so negative this is a chap trying his best to provide a vast array of products in such a small space and should be applauded. We should support small shops like these, they May not be around much longer.
